Today is the first day of Black History month. So the President recruited every black person he's ever interacted with to come to the White House this morning.
The transcript is...enlightening:

Now, I'll give you that this was a much more casual setting than if Trump as speaking to the entire black republican caucus, Tim. But he clearly has a speech in front of him...or a piece of paper that reminds him: "DON'T SAY THE 'N-WORD'!"
But Trump's words feel way more off the cuff.
Look, I get that a President is going to deviate from his text once in a while. George W. Bush was famous for it, and often found himself in trouble when it happened. His speech writers were undoubtedly screaming, "get back to the script!"
And Barack Obama, who had a way with words, loved to go rogue in a speech from time to time (though, everyone knows, he was his own head speech writer).
But now we have a reality TV President. Perhaps he believes that it can be "fixed in post" which is how ALL REALITY TV (which is a far cry from reality) is assembled.
But THIS speech reads like CRAZY UNCLE DONNY GOT INTO THE BATH TUB HOOCH BEFORE IT FINISHED FERMENTING, AGAIN!
(*I know Donald Trump doesn't drink and that his family suffered a severe loss due to alcohol, but MAN would that explain A LOT!)
But this speech is definitely worth reading.
In it he talks a lot about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Though nothing specific, other than being accused by the press of removing his statue from the oval office. He goes on to call it FAKE NEWS.
(My feelings? This bust was INDEED removed, and after the press made a stink it was returned and the company line became, "It's always been there.")
He also talks about Frederick Douglass as "Someone who has done a terrific job that is being recognized by more and more people..."
(My feelings? He had never heard of him before this morning. SO we now know that paper says:
DON'T SAY THE 'N-WORD'!
&
Talk about Frederick Douglass (Bigly)
And Paris (referring to Paris Dennard a CNN GOP Commentator) has done an amazing job in a very hostile CNN community. He’s all by himself. You’ll have seven people, and Paris. And I’ll take Paris over the seven. But I don’t watch CNN, so I don’t get to see you as much as I used to. I don’t like watching fake news.
Yes, we know. Anyone who disagrees with you is "fake news." OK, And let's ignore that Trump thinks Fox News is real news for a moment. He claims he doesn't watch CNN. That's fine...but literally the next thing he talks about is making communities safer where he says is this:
I saw you talking about it the other night, Paris, on something else that was really—you did a fantastic job the other night on a very unrelated show.
